BFF Facebook Myth – Debunked

Debunking the Facebook BFF Myth

Myths are all around us and every day we hear new ones. Just take this month as an example, out of nowhere we could come across the Facebook post that states:

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, invented the word BFF, to make sure your account is safe on Facebook. Type BFF in a comment, if it appears green, your account is protected.
If it does not appear in green, change your password immediately because it may be hacked by someone.

This information is not correct but has been shared by many Facebook users who thought they would help the network community and keep each other safe.

Tzell is here to debunk this myth once and for all! Here is what the new feature is about:

Yes, Facebook started a new feature, but it has nothing to do with the security status of your profile. Last October, Facebook introduced this new feature in which certain keywords in your comments would trigger a matching animation. So, if you were to use “xoxo” or “BFF” in your comment, these words would be automatically highlighted in a different color when you post them and show a short animation, such as heart or balloons when you click on them.  Facebook is now updating this great new feature with a list of trigger words, including “rad,” “bff,” “lmao,” “thank you so much” and many more.

If in any of your posts “BFF” was not highlighted in a different color, no worries, this does not mean your account was compromised, but could have been caused by your browser settings.

Given our long history within the travel industry, we want to debunk one more myth:

Booking with a Travel Agent is More Expensive than DIY

This is an absolute myth, you will be shocked how much more – for the same price as DIY – you will get out of your vacation when you work with a seasoned travel agent. Not only will they make sure they get to know you and what you like to experience during your trip, but they will also make sure you will get more than you could imagine.

They are there for you to plan and arrange it all, they monitor your trip in case the unforeseen threatens your travel plans, and, of course, they have access to amenities and upgrades that are not advertised or even known to the general public. While some agents may charge a consultation fee, you will never see hidden fees or unexpected costs when working with a Tzell agent.
